Flash Floods Devastate Nepal-Tibet Border, Killing 157; Foreign Tourists Among Missing

Flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border have killed at least 157 people, sweeping away roads, bridges, and power plants. Hundreds of foreign tourists from six countries — Australia, the UK, the US, Canada, Ireland, and Singapore — are missing in Nepal's Rasuwa valley. A tour operator who surveyed the area by air says he has little hope his group of 47 survived. Ground access remains cut off, leaving helicopters as the main search tool.
