FDA Approves First RAS-Targeting Drug for Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer

On August 26, 2026, the FDA approved daraxonrasib (Rasonque), the first drug to inhibit mutated KRAS — a protein driving over 90% of pancreatic tumours. In a 500-patient Phase 3 trial, median survival doubled to 13.2 months versus 6.6 on chemotherapy. Roughly 67,000 Americans are diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma each year.
