FDA Approves First Drug That Targets a Key Cancer Gene in Pancreatic Cancer

On August 26, 2026, the FDA approved daraxonrasib (Rasonque), the first drug to shut off a mutated gene found in over 90% of pancreatic tumours. In a 500-person study, patients lived about 13 months on average versus 6 months on standard chemotherapy. About 67,000 Americans face this cancer yearly.
