Iran and Oman Plan to Demine a Temporary Hormuz Corridor

Iran and Oman agreed to jointly clear mines from a temporary navigational corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters reported August 25. The waterway carries roughly a fifth of global oil and LNG. Iran says the deal alone won't reopen it — U.S. action is also needed.
