400,000 Juvenile Oysters Stolen from Flood-Hit NSW Farm

Roughly 400,000 young oysters worth $350,000–$400,000 were stolen from Latitude 31 Oyster Co on Oxley Island, NSW, police confirmed on 26 August. Manning River producers had been rebuilding after floods in 2021 and 2025 wiped out stocks. Sydney rock oysters need a three-year grow-out cycle — the period before harvest — so full recovery could take another two years.
