400,000 Oysters Stolen from NSW Farm Still Recovering from Floods

Roughly 400,000 juvenile oysters valued at $350,000–$400,000 were stolen from Latitude 31 Oyster Co on Oxley Island, NSW, police confirmed on 26 August. Manning River producers had been rebuilding after floods in 2021 and 2025 destroyed stocks. Sydney rock oysters need a three-year grow-out cycle, meaning full recovery could take another two years.
