Two Dan Sullivans on Alaska's Ballot — and the 2.5% That Could Decide Control

Alaska's 2026 Senate ballot will list two Republicans named Dan Sullivan after the state Supreme Court restored a retired teacher's candidacy. The challenger drew 2.5% in the primary — roughly double the gap between incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan (43%) and Democrat Mary Peltola (48%). Under ranked-choice voting, if his voters don't rank the incumbent second, those ballots go exhausted, reducing the pool needed for a majority.
