Two Dan Sullivans on Alaska's Senate Ballot, and the 2.5% That Could Swing It

Alaska's November 2026 US Senate ballot will feature two Republicans named Dan Sullivan after the state Supreme Court restored the challenger, a retired teacher. In the primary, Dan J. Sullivan took 2.5% — roughly double the gap between incumbent Sen. Dan S. Sullivan (43%) and Democrat Mary Peltola (48%). Under Alaska's ranked-choice voting, if his backers don't rank the incumbent second, those ballots go exhausted, shrinking the pool for a majority.
