Fire at Islamabad Hospital Nursery Kills at Least 15 Newborns

At least 15 newborns died on 26 August 2026 when fire swept through the neonatal ward nursery at Islamabad's Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences. Hospital officials told Geo News an air conditioner compressor exploded, igniting the blaze. Only one of 16 infants was rescued. Firefighters extinguished the flames and were cooling the site.
