Fire in Islamabad Hospital Kills at Least 15 Newborn Babies

On 26 August 2026, a fire broke out in the newborn care room at a hospital in Islamabad, Pakistan, killing at least 15 babies. Hospital staff told Geo News an air conditioning unit exploded and started the fire. Only one of 16 babies in the room was saved. Firefighters put out the fire.
