Claude's memory now works across chat and Cowork agent

Anthropic has unified Claude's memory between its chatbot and Claude Cowork, the desktop agent available on macOS and Windows since April 2026. Context learned in chat carries over when Cowork executes cloud-based tasks, and what Cowork encounters feeds back into the shared store. Memory is on by default for all Free, Pro, and Max accounts.
