Opportunity party crosses 5% threshold, holds balance of power

The Opportunity party has polled above the five percent MMP threshold for the first time in the RNZ-Reid Research poll, projecting to six seats. Neither the three governing parties nor a Labour-led bloc can reach the 61 seats needed to govern without them. National is at a series-low 29.1 percent. The poll was published on 23 August.
