New party could decide who forms the next government

Under MMP, a party needs five percent of the vote to get into Parliament. The Opportunity party has crossed that line for the first time in the RNZ-Reid Research poll, earning six seats. No side can reach the 61 seats needed to govern without them. National is at a record-low 29.1 percent. The poll was published on 23 August.
