Canada and U.S. negotiating steel tariff cut within four-million-tonne quota

Canada and the U.S. are negotiating a tariff-rate quota on Canadian steel: 25 per cent duty on up to four million tonnes of exports annually, 50 per cent above that. A 50-per-cent Section 232 tariff — a U.S. national-security levy — now applies.
