Walmart to Accept Apple Pay and Google Pay Starting August 24

Walmart will begin accepting Apple Pay and Google Pay at select Walmart and Sam's Club stores on August 24, ending over a decade of resistance to NFC-based mobile wallets. The retailer expects full store coverage by end of 2026 and all fuel stations by mid-2027. Walmart Pay and Scan-and-Go will remain available alongside the new options.
