Walmart Will Let You Pay with Your Phone's Tap-to-Pay Feature

Starting August 24, Walmart will let shoppers pay by tapping their iPhone or Android phone at checkout in select stores, ending years of resistance to phone-based payments. All stores should offer it by end of 2026 and gas stations by mid-2027. Walmart's own payment app and Scan-and-Go will still work.
