Walmart Will Accept Apple Pay and Google Pay Starting August 24

Walmart announced August 21, 2026 that it will begin accepting Apple Pay and Google Pay at select Walmart and Sam's Club stores starting August 24, ending more than a decade of resistance to NFC-based mobile wallets. The retailer expects full coverage across all stores by end of 2026 and all fuel stations by mid-2027. Walmart Pay and Scan-and-Go will remain available alongside the new options.
