Fire Tears Through Swiss Alpine Building, Leaving Eight Hurt and Five Unaccounted For

Eight people were injured and five remain missing after fire gutted a mixed-use building — a restaurant with apartments above — in Thusis, Switzerland. The stairwell collapsed, blocking internal routes and forcing roughly 100 firefighters to cut through the roof with a crane. The blaze erupted after midnight; its cause is under investigation.
