Parliament's gambling ad curbs ignore its own inquiry's advice

Parliament passed the Interactive Gambling Amendment Bill on 20 August, capping TV betting ads at three per hour, age-gating online ads, and phasing in stadium and jersey bans. It stops well short of the full ad ban the 2023 Peta Murphy inquiry recommended — a report that concluded partial bans don't work. Murphy's husband, Rod Glover, called it "far from everything that is needed."
