New law limits gambling ads but stops short of a full ban

Parliament passed a law on 20 August limiting TV betting ads to three per hour, restricting online ads to adults, and gradually banning ads at stadiums and on jerseys. But a 2023 inquiry led by Peta Murphy found partial bans don't work and recommended a full ban. Murphy's husband, Rod Glover, said the package is "far from everything that is needed."
