Riot Games shuts down 2XKO development over flat engagement and costs

Riot Games will end active development on 2XKO, its free-to-play League of Legends fighting game, at the end of December 2026. Engagement stayed flat despite larger updates, and operating costs substantially exceeded revenue. Around 80 staff face layoffs. Riot is refunding all player spending, unlocking all content in September, and keeping servers online beyond 2026.
