Riot Games ends 2XKO development, citing flat engagement and unsustainable costs
Riot Games will end active development on 2XKO, its free-to-play League of Legends fighting game, at the end of December 2026. The company said engagement stayed flat despite larger updates and operating costs substantially exceed revenue. Around 80 staff are being laid off. Riot is refunding all player spending, unlocking all content in September, and keeping servers online beyond 2026.
