DOC proposes cutting media and communications team by a third, PSA says

The PSA says DOC has proposed disestablishing its media and communications unit, cutting 33 positions while creating 37 new ones — a net reduction from 83 roles to 55. DOC's Fiona Weightman said proposed changes were put to staff on 20 August 2026 but no decisions had been made. DOC did not confirm the union's figures.
