DOC proposes disestablishing entire media and communications unit, PSA says

The PSA says DOC has proposed disestablishing its entire media and communications unit, reducing the team from 83 roles to 55. DOC's Fiona Weightman confirmed proposed changes were put to staff on 20 August 2026 but said no decisions had been made. DOC did not confirm the union's figures. The PSA says 33 positions would be disestablished and 37 new ones created.
