Conservation department considers shrinking its media team, union says

The PSA union says the Department of Conservation has proposed cutting its media and communications team from 83 roles to 55. The department's Fiona Weightman said the proposed changes were shared with staff on 20 August 2026 but no final decisions had been made. DOC did not confirm the union's numbers.
