Kosovo Uncovers Wartime Mass Graves in the North

Kosovo has recovered at least 23 sets of remains from three suspected mass graves near Zubin Potok, announced August 19, 2026. Acting PM Kurti said the victims were likely ethnic Albanians abducted in Mitrovica and executed in spring 1999. Three men face war crimes charges. DNA identification may take months. About 1,600 people from the 1998–99 war remain missing.
