Greens pledge full restoration and expansion of Ka Ora, Ka Ako school lunches

The Green Party would restore Ka Ora, Ka Ako school lunches at $6.50 a meal and extend them to about 400 more schools, adding 150,000 children. Co-leader Marama Davidson announced the pledge on 19 August 2026. A proposed wealth tax would fund it permanently, costing $472 million in 2027/28.
