NDIS overhaul passes Senate with 63 amendments
The NDIS overhaul is law after Labor accepted 63 amendments in the Senate. The scheme will shrink from over 770,000 participants to about 600,000, saving A$37.8 billion over four years. The government says the scheme was heading toward A$100 billion a year by the mid-2030s without changes. The question is whether fewer participants means better support or just thinner coverage.
