Home Office issues behavioural guide for asylum seekers

The Home Office published a nine-page booklet for asylum seekers on 19 August 2026, covering gender equality, sex and consent, and public behaviour. It states women need no man's permission to work, study or travel, and warns that breaking UK law could end asylum support or affect a claim. The Conservatives and Reform UK criticised the guidance.
