Government publishes behaviour guide for people seeking asylum in UK

The Home Office gave asylum seekers a nine-page guide on 19 August 2026 about UK values: gender equality, consent, and public respect. It says women need no man's permission to work, study or travel. Breaking UK law could cut government help or harm an asylum case. The Conservatives and Reform UK criticised the guide.
