TerraPower's Natrium Reactor Costs ~$27,000/kW — Ten Times Gas

TerraPower's proposed Natrium nuclear plant is projected at $9.4 billion for 345 megawatts — roughly $27,000 per kilowatt, about ten times a combined-cycle gas turbine. In January 2026, Meta agreed to buy eight Natrium plants. No advanced reactor has finished a U.S. commercial build. Whether costs fall enough depends on the Wyoming plant now under construction.
