TerraPower's Natrium Reactor Costs ~$27,000/kW — Ten Times Gas Turbines
TerraPower's proposed Natrium nuclear plant is projected at $9.4 billion for 345 MWe — roughly $27,000 per kilowatt, an order of magnitude above combined-cycle gas turbines. In January 2026, Meta agreed to buy eight Natrium plants. No advanced reactor has completed a commercial U.S. build. Whether costs fall enough for mid-tier operators depends on the Wyoming plant now under construction.
