Track defect visible on CCTV and flagged by passengers before Lewes derailment

RAIB's interim report found a track geometry irregularity near Lewes was visible on forward-facing CCTV from the derailed train and earlier services before the 13 August derailment injuring 30. Passengers on other trains had reported rough riding there. Evidence of prior track maintenance was also found. The ORR is investigating separately.
