National Trust Appeals to Supreme Court to Pause $400M White House Ballroom
The National Trust for Historic Preservation filed an emergency Supreme Court application on August 18 to halt the Trump administration's $400 million White House ballroom project while justices decide its fate. The 90,000-square-foot addition, 65% complete, has already demolished part of the East Wing. The administration wants work to continue. A ruling is expected within days.
