National Trust Asks Supreme Court to Halt Trump's $400M White House Ballroom
The National Trust for Historic Preservation filed an emergency Supreme Court application on August 18 to pause the Trump administration's $400 million White House ballroom project while justices decide whether construction may continue. The filing came after the administration asked the Court to let work proceed. The 90,000-square-foot project, 65% complete, has demolished part of the East Wing. A ruling is expected within days.
