US Sanctions ICC President, Raising Pressure on the Court

The US sanctioned ICC President Tomoko Akane and Senior Trial Lawyer Abdoulaye Seye on August 18, raising total sanctioned ICC officials to at least 11. Secretary Rubio, acting on Trump's order, accused both of prosecuting officials from non-member states. Neither the US nor Israel belongs to the ICC, the body that prosecutes individuals for war crimes and genocide.
