NDIS overhaul: Minister can slash participant funding by 99%

Australia's Senate passed the NDIS Amendment Bill with Coalition backing, letting the minister cut certain funding categories for all participants by up to 99%. The government expects $37.8 billion in savings over four years from the $52 billion-a-year scheme, which it warns would otherwise more than double in cost within a decade.
