New NDIS law lets minister cut participant funding by up to 99%, saving $37.8 billion

Australia's NDIS Amendment Bill, passed by the Senate with Coalition support, grants the minister power to cut funding from certain categories across all participants by up to 99%. The government projects $37.8 billion in savings over four years from the $52 billion-a-year scheme, which it says would otherwise more than double in cost within a decade.
