Government spends $106m on Auckland harbour crossing advice, orders another report

More than $106 million has gone to consultants and contractors for Auckland's second Waitematā Harbour crossing, Transport Minister Chris Bishop confirmed. The Government will commission a detailed business case — a full cost-benefit analysis — due next year before committing to build. Bishop told RNZ earlier reports covered the "why" and the new work must answer the "how." Cabinet decides what to build and how to fund it in 2027.
