
German Regulator Orders Apple to Make App Tracking Consent Prompts Neutral
Germany's Bundeskartellamt ruled Apple's App Tracking Transparency favors its own apps over third-party ones in how data-collection consent is solicited. Apple must make prompts neutral in wording, design, and layout, remove discouraging elements for third parties, and comply within four months. A seven-year oversight period with an independent monitoring trustee follows.
