
German Antitrust Regulator Orders Apple to Neutralize App Tracking Transparency Consent Prompts
Germany's Bundeskartellamt ruled that Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework favors Apple's own apps over third-party apps in how data-collection consent is solicited. Apple must make its consent prompts neutral in wording, design, and layout, remove discouraging elements for third-party prompts, and implement changes within four months. A seven-year oversight period with an independent monitoring trustee follows.
