Sonos adds iPhone lock screen playback controls via Live Activities

Sonos now lets iPhone users control playback from the lock screen through iOS Live Activities — Apple's mechanism for real-time widget updates. CEO Tom Conrad teased the feature in February 2026. It is off by default, requiring opt-in in both the Sonos app and iOS Settings. Album art is absent; Sonos says it is exploring alternatives.
