Sonos adds iPhone lock screen playback controls via iOS Live Activities

Sonos released an app update adding iOS Live Activities support, letting iPhone users control Sonos playback from the lock screen without unlocking the device. CEO Tom Conrad first teased the feature in February 2026. The feature is off by default, requiring opt-in in both the Sonos app and iOS Settings. Album art is absent; Sonos says it is exploring alternatives.
