GitHub Hits at Least Five Platform Incidents in First Half of August 2026
GitHub logged at least five incidents between August 1 and 17, 2026, spanning Actions, Copilot, API services, pull requests, and webhooks. The worst, an August 6 Actions outage, failed 71% of workflow runs at peak. An August 17 outage caused 20% API error rates and disrupted Copilot; it remains undiagnosed. For infrastructure powering much of the industry's source control and CI/CD pipelines, this density warrants attention.
