GitHub Suffers Multiple Service Disruptions in Early August 2026
GitHub experienced at least five separate service disruptions between August 1 and 17, 2026, affecting code automation, its AI coding assistant, website connections, and other features. The worst, on August 6, caused most automated tasks to fail. An August 17 outage, still unexplained, produced error rates affecting roughly one in five requests. Given how many developers rely on GitHub, this frequency is worth watching.
