GitHub has experienced at least five distinct platform incidents across Actions, Copilot, API services, pull requests, and webhooks between August 1 and August 17, 2026. The most severe, an August 6 Actions outage, failed 71% of workflow runs at peak. The August 17 outage, with 20% API error rates and Copilot affected, remains undiagnosed. For a service underpinning much of the software industry's SCM and CI/CD pipelines, this disruption density warrants attention.
