Indiana's White River hits highest level since 1913 flood

Over 11 inches of rain fell across Indiana starting 11 August, driving the White River to its highest level since the Great Flood of 1913. Anderson recorded a record crest — the river's peak water level. At least seven people died. Indianapolis floodwaters crested 17 August, and the National Weather Service warns flash flooding remains possible across central Indiana.
