Indiana's White River reaches highest level since historic 1913 flood

Over 11 inches of rain fell across Indiana during storms beginning 11 August, pushing the White River to levels unmatched since the Great Flood of 1913. Anderson recorded a record crest. At least seven people died. Indianapolis floodwaters peaked early on 17 August, with the National Weather Service warning that flash flooding remains possible across central Indiana.
