Met Police accidentally exposes 143 Al Fayed victims' emails in group message
The Metropolitan Police apologised after a group email on 11 August 2026 revealed 143 Al Fayed victims' addresses to about 150 recipients. The force blamed "human error" and referred itself to the Information Commissioner, the UK's data protection regulator. A June incident — a survivor's handwritten account sent to another victim — had already raised concerns about the Met's handling of the case.
