GOP Redistricting Pushes Wasserman Schultz Into Historically Black District, Drawing CBC Pushback

Republican-drawn district maps split Debbie Wasserman Schultz's former seat into five fragments, relocating the 11-term congresswoman and former DNC chair into Florida's 20th District — a majority-minority seat held by Black Democrats for three decades. She is the only white candidate and does not live there. Congressional Black Caucus chair Yvette Clarke and other Black leaders have objected. The primary is August 18.
